BEN SHERWOOD to Preside over ABC News

One of today's Drudgereport.com  headlines reads:

Ben Sherwood Named President of ABC News

I was intrigued this morning when I read on abcnews.go.com  that ABC news has a new president, Ben SHERWOOD.  I wikipedia'd his name but NO mention of his ethnic heritage.  Hmmmm.  But I have a hunch...

My goodness, I keep trying to find out this guy's heritage but Google's first 10 searches do not mention anything.

Here is an interesting article BEN wrote for the HuffingtonPost back in April 21, 2009, which happens to be the world jewery's official Holocaust recognition day:

Holocaust Remembrance Day: The Remarkable Strength (and Success) of the Survivors
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ben-sherwood/holocaust-remembrance-day_b_189260.html

Also, I found a site where Ben is listed as a fundraiser for the Harry Walker Agency, along with many JEWS:

FUNDRAISERS FOR JEWISH ORGANIZATION

http://www.harrywalker.com/speakers/fundraisers-for-jewish-organizations.cfm

Any guesses as to what Ben SHERWOOD is?  Don't be surprised, though.  I know, your not.

But here's something interesting I found about Ben on imdb.com:

Trivia:

In 1981, Sherwood graduated from Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles. In 1986, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard with an AB degree in American government and history. From 1986 to 1989, he was a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University, where he earned masters degrees in British imperial and commonwealth history and development economics.

So Rhodes Scholar + ABC President = A GREAT/FITTING COMBINATION for ABC News.

If you read Mr. Sherman's book "The Survivor's Club" he mentions his grandmother, a smart and energetic Nebraskan who was descended from talmudic scholars in Eastern Europe. That is one of the threads of his ethnic heritage. Sometimes you can get information that is not on the internet. You wouldn't believe what you can find out doing simple research. It's also great fun.
